Bill Staines WorkshopWhen Bill Staines comes to town, we always sell tickets for the promoter and it never fails, for several weeks after his visit, when folks find out that he was just in town, they express their disappointment at having missed the concert.

So here’s your advance warning. Bill Staines will be performing this coming Saturday, February 23 at 7:30 pm in the auditorium of Armatage School located at 2501 West 56th Street in South Minneapolis. By now, most of you know the location as it’s a mere 10 blocks north of the Pickin’ Parlor and two blocks west of Penn Ave. We have tickets on hand. They are $15.00 in advance or $20.00 if you wait until the day of the show. Jasper Lepak will be opening for Bill.

Bill Staines has been traveling the highways and byways of North America for over four decades. He performs nearly 200 shows each year and travels nearly 70,000 miles each year to bring his music to his countless fans. He is one of the most prolific and durable performers in the folk world. He has twenty-seven recordings to his credit and has written over three hundred songs, many of which have been recorded by such artists as Peter, Paul & Mary, Makem and Clancy, Nancy Griffith, Glen Yarborough and Jerry Jeff Walker. His signature tunes such as “Place in the Choir”, “the Roseville Fair”, “Child of Mine” and “River” have become folk music classics. Audiences always join in with Bill on these and other of their favorites and they have been sung around campfires the world over.
