One of a select handful of musicians to have
mastered both the chromatic and diatonic harmonica,Clint's work has earned
him a place in the Encyclopedia of the Harmonica. From pre-war blues to
modern jazz, Clint has delved deep into the musical possibilities of the
harmonica. This 30 year love affair with the mouth organ began as a teenager
when Clint stumbled across a Muddy Waters concert at his hometown State
Fair.
Two of his most notable recordings are the
jazz CD Dream of the Serpent Dog (made in collaboration with Bobby E.
and Jim Chenoweth) and Take Your Time Mr. Brown by the jug band
influenced group The Sugar Kings. Both have received rave reviews around the
country and internationally.
His studies of a broad range of American
musical styles has earned him the reputation of adaptability and musical
flexibility. This, in turn, has led him to be sought after as a studio
session player. Clint is also a highly respected harmonica educator with
over 20 years of experience under his belt teaching private lessons and
leading workshops. He is a longtime faculty member at the West Bank School
of Music; Minneapolis Community and Technical College and The Homestead
School of Folk Music. In New York City, he attended the Parsons/New School
Jazz and Contemporary Music Program and studied with renowned classical
harmonicist Robert Bonfiglio.
Currently, he works with about 5 or 6 groups
doing everything from original roots rock to straight ahead jazz. |
